Senpai Jack Britton

Senpai Jack started training as a 14 year old in another Kyokushin club, but gave it up after getting his yellow belt. Years later, in his 20s, he decided to give another go. This time he stuck with it.
Here he is (2nd back left) at his first IFK Australia training camp with no less than Shihan David Pickthall (4th from the left, back row) as the guest instructor.

Board breaking is an integral part of Kyokushin senior gradings, starting at one board for 2nd kyu, and 3 boards for all black belt gradings. Here are photos of Jack doing his breaks at his 1st kyu and 2nd dan gradings.

It takes a while to get a black belt in Kyokushin. Jack re-started in 2011 as a white belt, and eventually achieved his black belt in 2019. His nidan came along in 2024. He would have done the 2nd dan sooner had the pandemic not got in the way.
